私は、さまざまな人生の「転機」に立つ人々の姿から、インスピレーションを受けています。
I’ve seen a 29 year-old shelf her successful tattoo business to go and make YouTube videos in her van.
成功していたタトゥービジネスを手放し、バンで暮らしながら動画を作る女性。
高収入を得ながらも孤独を感じ、バリの豪邸を離れた青年。
I’ve watched young but highly-paid doctors in the US abandon the profession they worked for years for.
そして、何年も努力してきた医師という職を去った若い医師たち。
And I’ve felt it myself – the pull to leave behind something that looked impressive, but didn’t feel like me.
彼らを見ながら、私自身も「見た目の成功」より「本当の自分」に惹かれていく感覚を覚えました。
One doctor became disillusioned by the healthcare system.
一人の医師は医療制度に失望し、
The other doctor just wanted to spend more time with his daughter.
もう一人は、ただ娘と過ごす時間を大切にしたかった。
Essentially, there comes a turning point when we stop performing for others and begin reconnecting with ourselves.
人はいつか「誰かのために演じる生き方」をやめ、
「自分自身と再びつながる瞬間」を迎えるのだと思います。
It’s a form of internal bonding with who you actually are –
それは内なる自分との絆を取り戻すこと。
A recognition of ourselves that allows us to blossom into something more.
偽りのない自分に気づき、そこから新たに花ひらくこと。
More than a career, a title, or a qualification –
職業や肩書きではなく、
Rather, to see our hidden gifts begin to show.
隠れていた自分の才能や声が少しずつ表に出てくる過程。
Beginning to see yourself as you actually are is a turbulent journey.
It has been for me.
この「ありのままの自分を見る」という旅は、私にとっても平坦ではありませんでした。
To be honest, I’m still not sure if I’ve even arrived at a place where I can see myself fully yet.
正直、今もその途中にいると思います。
But for now, I can see that I’m leaving behind what is no longer needed, and am exploring a new era of myself.
けれども少しずつ、不要になったものを手放し、
新しい自分の時代を探り始めています。
It’s an ongoing work of art to –
- Make peace with your past decisions
- Reconnect with your voice after performing for too long
- Trust in the changes God is making in you
それは、今もなお続く一つの芸術のような旅。
- 過去の決断と和解すること。
- 長く演じてきた役を終え、自分の声を取り戻すこと。
- そして、神さまが導く変化を信じること。
These are foundational human experiences.
それらはどれも、人が深くつながり合うための基盤のような体験です。
Without them, it’s easy for our connection with others to stay surface-level or performative.
そうした内側の変化を通してこそ、他者との関係も本物になっていくのだと思います。
I’ve been exploring this theme through four Japanese kanji –
私はこのテーマを、四つの漢字を通して探求しています。
Ayatsuna Hitoka
- Aya 絢 – beauty – in the layers of self, not just aesthetics
- Tsuna 繋 – connection – with one’s own becoming
- Hito 人 – people – observing both myself and others
- Ka 華 – blossoming – not just through productivity and work – but through reflection, return and restoration.
アヤツナ ヒトカ
- 絢（あや）—— 見た目の美しさだけでなく、重なり合う「内なる美」。
- 繋（つな）—— 自分自身の「変化」とのつながり。
- 人（ひと）—— 自分と他者を観察するまなざし。
- 華（か）—— 生産性だけでなく、「回復」や「静けさ」から咲くもの。
Ayatsuna Hitoka is a series incorporating these four characters to depict the restorative blossoming of ourselves, as we grow into who we are meant to become.
これら四つの文字を込めた作品シリーズ「絢繋 | 人華」は、
“人が本来の自分に戻り、再び花ひらく” というテーマを描いています。
These painted works have become a record of my own slow transformation, and I hope it will resonate with those who are also searching for whoever they will become next.
この作品は、私自身のゆっくりとした変化の記録となるとともに、
同じように「新しい自分」を探す方の心に寄り添う作品でありたいと思っています。
Shipping & Returns
Paintings are shipped free of charge from the UK by DHL Express – tracked, fast and handled with care. All artworks are insured in full via DHL Express, and tracked door-to-door.

International buyers: please note you may be charged customs duties or VAT upon delivery, depending on your country’s regulations. These are the responsibility of the buyer. Shipment occurs under DAP (Delivered at Place) terms — meaning international customers may be responsible for paying local import duties or VAT upon delivery. Customers in Japan will not be charged customs fees.

DHL Services to Russia and Belarus are currently suspended. If you require shipping to one of those countries, please contact me via email at bymatsby@gmail.com before making a purchase.

Returns are accepted if initiated and sent back within 14 days of purchase.
The buyer is responsible for return postage costs, and any loss in value if an item isn’t returned in original condition.
If the work arrives damaged, please email me at bymatsby@gmail.com within 1 week of receiving the painting to discuss a replacement.

絵画はイギリスより DHL Express にて送料無料で発送いたします。追跡可能で迅速、丁寧に取り扱われます。すべての作品は DHL Express による完全保険付きで、発送先まで追跡可能です。
海外のお客様へ:
国によっては、配達時に関税や消費税（VAT）が課される場合があります。これらの費用は購入者のご負担となります。発送は DAP（Delivered at Place）条件 にて行われます。日本宛てのご注文には関税はかかりません。
ロシア・ベラルーシへの配送について:
現在、DHL のサービスは一時停止中です。これらの国への発送が必要な場合は、Royal Mail など別の配送業者を利用してお届けいたします。
返品について:
購入後 14日以内 にご連絡のうえ、返送された場合のみ返品を承ります。
返品時の送料は購入者様のご負担となります。また、商品が元の状態で返送されない場合、減価分はご負担いただきます。
